Abstract
The onerflow models are of both theoretical and practical interest,and have received much attention of many authors throughout the past fifty years.
The general plan of this thesis, which contains four chapters is to persent in details the problem of deriving an explicit form of the factorial moments of any order of the system of overflow queues in the steady-state case.
The first chapter is a general introduction. A review of some pervious studies in the system of overflow queues is introduced. the important results which have been derived by earlier authors, also some basic new results of both chapters three and four are introduced.
The purpose of chapter two is to discuss the system of over flow queue :(M/M/C/C,M/M/∞)of type 1. The author discusses two cases of the system of overflow queues. In the first one the switch concept is introduced and the second one without it. In both cases the factorial moments and the marginal probability of the number of busy servers are calculated.
The thrid chapter treats the truncated two-channels in the heterogeneous case with a modified discipline and limited capacity. the first and the second factorial moments of the overflow queues of type 2 are derived in an explicit form. The discipline considered here is that of krishnamoorthi and not the classical one FIFO.
