Abstract
Starting With The Egg Stage,The Study Investigates How Gamma Irradiation Affects The Number Of Eggs. In The Larval Stage, The Irradiated Larvae Increase With Increasing The Dose And The Sex Ratio Is Affected In Favour Of Females With All Radiation Doses Used. In The Pupal Stage, Parent Mortality Of Irradiated Pupae Increases Gradually With Increasing The Dose And Pupal Irradiation Causes A Slight Effect On Pupal Duration. In The Adult Stage, The Total Number Of Eggs Per Female And Percent Egg Hatch Are Greatly Reduced With Increasing The Dose Of Irradiation. Males Are More Resistant To The Sterilizing Effects Of Radiation Than Females. Adult Longevity Of Both Sexes Is Decreased As A Result Of Gamma Irradiation. The Effect Of Gamma Irradiation On Mating Competitiveness Is Discussed.
