Abstract The present study deals with the important viruses affecting beans, namely BYMV and BYMV taking into consideration that the affection between the two viruses on beans are too different. The investigation deals first with the possibility of virus transmission through the seeds and studies if inhibitors may play a role in the resistance of seeds. The affection of EDTA is also studied and how it affects the viruses. The effect of BYMV and BYMV infection on free amino acids, soluble carbohydrates and phenols of bean leaves at the begining of symptoms development and at flowering stage, is determined. |
