Abstract This study deals with the effects of gamma irradiation on sitophilus oryzae as the most widespread stored product insect. The study is conducted to investigate the duration of the immature stages, the effect of irradiation on the different developmental stages (egg stage, larval stage, pupal stage and stageand adult stage). The effects of : 1) fractionation of lethal doses of the egg and pupal stage. 2) gamma irradiation on mating competitiveness (irradiated as newly emerged adults and as fully grown pupa). 3) gamma irradiation on sperm activity are investigated. |
