Abstract The results of adsorption of dalopon (2, 2-dichloropropionic acid) and its rate of degradation in clay and sand soils, and their enriched cultures has been given as the following: 1) the maximum adsorption is attained within two hours. 2) the amount of adsorption increases with increase of the incubated amount of dalopon and its degree of degradation is greater in clay than in sand soil. 3) its degradation to chloride ion and pyruvic acid is detected either in soils or their liquid cultures treated with dalopon. 4) the curve of liberated chloride ions takes s-shape while the produced pyruvate takes the ushape. |
