The Egyptian economy is going now towards economics reform in general and specificly agricultural economics. One of the important changes in the change in agricultural land rent according to law No. 96 year 1992, that made land rent equal 22 times agricultural land tax.
This study tries to deal and analyse some economic social political and religious sides for agricultural land rents in sohag governorate in year 1992/1993. Data required for the study has been collected by multi stage statified sample of farmers in Sohag governorate. The size of the sample is 516 farms of which 195 farms owned and rented, 168 are rented farms, and 153 owned (not rented) farms.
The study used different methods and tools for economic statestical analysis, such as Linear Programming, Index Numbers and analysis of variance.
The study consists of three chapters:
The first chapter deals with the theoretical frame work for the study through presenting previous studies related to the subject of the study as well as, this chapter shows in more detail present changes in land renting relation in Egypt and other countries.
The second chapter deals with agricultural economic structure in Sohag governorate.
The third chapter deals with study and analysis of present and future renting relation within available data and study rent value of different agricultural farms in Sohag goverenorate.
The study has reached to the following results.
