Abstract Hepatorenal syndrome is a peculiar functional form of renal failure complicating liver cirrhosis, it has different etiologies and pathogenesis. This disease has a senistral prognosis. Atrial natriuretic peptide is a natriuretic, systematic and portal hypotensive, vasodilating hormone secreted from atrial myocytes and from the brain. There is many factors affecting its release, mainly the increased volume load. It has a role in that syndrome. This study was done on 3 groups of patients, each of which consists of 20 male and female patients, group I is cirrhotic patients, group II included the hepatorenal syndrome patients and group III were patients with end stage renal failure on either hemo or peritoneal dialysis and in addition, 15 persons as a control group IV. |
