Abstract

This study includes 300 cases of major burns. Males 200 patients and females 100 patients (male to female ratio 2:1). Number of expired patients 10, six males and four females (male to female ratio 3 to 2).
Patients divided to 4 groups according to percentage of burn:
First group: from 15-25% (B.S.A).
Second group: from 26-35% (B.S.A.).
Third group: from 36-45% (B.S.A.).
Fourth group: more than 45% (B.S.A.).
We make daly monitoring investigation for each case including: Blood sugar, total serum protein, HB, serum urea and creatinine and serum and serum electrolytes.
Weekly investigation includes:
-bacterial culture from burn wound twice weekly.
-liver function test once weekly.
-complete blood picture once weekly.
