Abstract
This thesis dealt with Aizoaceae s.l. in terms of morphological characters, seed features and molecular data. Firstly, a taxonomical study centred on Aizoaceae s.l. in Egypt and Sudan. Secondly, a survey of seed characters was conducted with focussing on subfamily Sesusuvioideae. Thirdly, a phylogenetic intra-relationships of Sesuvioideae was studied by using internal transcribed spacer (ITS). Moreover, the T. triquetra complex was selected for an in-depth taxonomical study.
