Abstract
Cement industry is one of the most important industries in the world, as cement is used in building construction and civil engineering. Respiratory system diseases are the most important group of occupational diseases in cement industry and are the result of inhalation of airborne dust. This cross-sectional study was conducted in el-minia cement factory, at samalout district, in el-minia governorate over the period from January till July 2003. Aims of this study are the following : 1-To identify the impact of cement dust on the respiratory system of the exposed workers. 2-To propose a plan to reduce the respiratory hazards due to exposure to cement dust.
