المستخلص

A total number of 90 male albino rats of different ages was used to study the postnatal development of testis. Histological and histochemical changes. The present study work shows that the stroma of the newly born testis consists of mesenchymal tissue. The seminiferous tubules appear as solid cords which contain only spermatogonia and sertoli cells. They are surrounded by mesenchymal tissue. The intestinal cells are ill - developed. At 5 days-stage,the capsule is differentiatedinto C. t. At 10 days stage, signs of spermatogenesis begins. The interstitial cells are slightly larger and their cytoplasm shows and little vacuolations. No changes could be detected in the next stages of 20 and 30 days. At 60 days stage the process of spermatogenesis has started and all the types of spermatogenic cells could be observed. For the results obtained in this study, one can conclude that, the strome of the newly born testis is mesenchymal in nature. The capsule is differentiated into connective tissue before the differentiation of interstitial tissue. The seminiferous tubules appear as solid cords. They begin to canalise on the 10th days stages and are lined only with spermatogenia and sertoli cells. signs of spermatogenesis begins on the 10th day of postnatal life .It is completed at 60 days stage. The interstitial cells of leyding star to differentiate on the 10th day.
