Abstract This work has studied the role of different imaging modalities in the investigation of patients with prostatic diseases. Recent imaging modalities such as TRUS and CT have been used, in addition to the classic intravenous urography and abdominal sonography, as well as ascending urethrography. from this work, TRUS proved its vital importance. It has been recommended that TRUS, DRE and PSA assay should be interpreted together in the diagnosis of prostatic carcinoma. prostatic carcinoma has a peripheral location, has consistency on DRE, is hypoechoic oftenly on TRUS, and is associated with a high PSA assay in the serum. |
