Drug abuse is now one of the major problems that continues to consume a large amount of the world’s financial and cocial resources .
The cost to the economy of such use is staggering .
However , the cost in broken homes , damaged lives , and human suffering is beyond calculations.
As long as illegal drug use is prevalent in our society , drug abuse testing will have an important clinical and forensic role .
Analytical topxicology has much to offer in terms of combating the problems of drug abuse .
Detection of drugs of abuse in biological fluids remains the most objective of diagnosis and monitoring drug abuse problems.
