Abstract This prospective study was designed to implement.the different nursing modalities for children with primary monosymptomatic nocturnal enuresis and to evaluate the success rates of these nursing modalities. The present study were included one hundred children suffering from primary monosymptomatic nocturnal enuresis. The children who were selected among those attending the outpatient clinics of pediatrics and urology departments, in Assiut University Hospital. Were included during the period from May 2003 to August 2004. Their age ranged from 6-12 years. They were divided into four groups, each involved 25 children. According to the methods of nursing modalities used for the children, they were randomly assigned for specific method of nursing modalities. Group one: were given instructions (motivational program). Group two: were given the bladder training program beside the instructions (motivational program) used in group one. Group three: were given the enuresis alarm beside the. instructions (motivational program) used in group one . Group four : the children who received drug therapy for NE in the form of imipramine tablets. For data collection, the following items were obtained: _ Biosocial data related to the child, Biosocial data related to the parents, Medical history of children with emphasis on the nocturnal enuresis including the number of wet nights/week and family history of nocturnal enuresis. -The follow up visits: the parents and their children were interviewed through out four visits.
