Abstract
In the present study , comparative statistics revealed significant elevation of serum caspase-3 mean value in HCV patients with normal liver enzymes ( Group I ) , as compared to the reference group (Group III) mean value .
As regards serum aggrecan , in group I patients there was no significant changes in its mean value as compared to the reference group mean value. Whereas serum aggrecan was significantly elevated in group II -patients with elevated enzymes , as compared to both Group III-reference group , and to Group I - patients with normal enzymes mean values . Also there was significant elevation in AST/ALT ratio in the groupie as compared to both groups I and III.
