Abstract Bronchial asthma is characterized by inflammation, reversible airway obstruction and increased airway responsiveness to various stimuli which may be relieved spontaneously or as a result of the proper therapy. Recent studies suggest that inhaled cytokine such as recombinant interferon gamma (IFN-γ) may play certain role in the treatment of some respiratory conditions associated with inflammation. From this point we studied in our work a novel treatment using inhaled tuberculin with different safety doses instead of the interferon-gamma. Treatment of patients with atopic asthma using nebulized PPD reduces their IgE synthesis and improves their clinical symptom. |
