Abstract

The present study suggested in. order exploring the Effect of Crossing on Productive Performance of Rabbits by using three breeds of rabbits which are : New Zealand White ( NZW ) , Giant Grey Flanders ( FF ) , and Belgian ( BB ) breeds for measuring of body weights , relative body weight , average. daily gain, blood parameters , immune status against sheep red. Blood cells , and carcass characters

The results can be summarized as following:

1- Purebreds showed higher body weight than crossbreds. Males and females of the purebreds were the heaviest at the market age.

2- Purebreds showed. The highest level of total protein and albumin level

3- Reciprocal crossbreds were the highest for globulin level while Crossbreds were the highest for glucose

4- Purebreds were the highest for cholesterol level

5- Purebreds showed the highest immune response to sheep red blood cells at first dose, but crossbreds showed the highest response at the 12 ”d doge.

6 Purebreds had the heaviest live body weight.

- So the crossing of Flanders with NZW is used for improvement of body weight, carcass traits , and organ weight % of both sexes. Using Belgian breed in crossing lead to decrease immune level *in the offspring produced.
