Abstract This research was conducted at the Horticultural Research Station of the Agricultural Research Center, Seds, Beni Suef Governorate for two successive seasons, 1986 and 1987. This research dealt with the influences of some plant growth regulators, atrinal at 0.05.0.1 and 0.2%, alar at 250, 500 and 1000 ppm,Cycocel at 250,500 and 1000 ppm and RSW 0411 at 70,140 and 280 ppm, on the growth, flowering and chemical composition of Chyrsanthemum morifolium, Ramat cvs Super Yellow and Army Guard. Moreover, the interaction between cultivars and the plant growth regulators treatments was also studied. The experiment, therefore, was arranged as split plot design with four replications Chrysanthemum cultivars were main plots while growth regulators treatments were sub plots On Jun 1 st the rooted cuttings were planted in 25 cm. pots two weeks later, the plants were pinched. The plants were sprayed three times at three week-intervals starting July 1st . The recorded data were: plant heigt, branch number, stem diameter, herb fresh and dry weight, flowering date, flower number diameter and weight. Moreover the photosynthetic pigments,i.e., chlorophyll a, chlorophyll band carotenoids as well as the sugars contents were estimated in the leaves at the end of experiments. |
