Abstract
The present investicction Was carried out in Mallawy
Agriculture Rosecrch Station in two successive seasons1975/1976
and 1976/1977. The study aims at investigating
the effect of salinity (gradual leacbing and gradual saLinization) on veGetative growth, flowering, fruiting and chomical composition Of three ornamental annuals i.e Calendula officinalis,Adonis Autumnalis And Ageratum conyzoidws.
A mixture of sodium chloride And calcium chloride (1:1 on
equivelont basis) was used as tho source of salinity. For
gradual leaching experiment three lovels of salinity were
Used i. e. 0.5, 1.0 And 1. 5 % and for gredul salinization
the Soil Was irrigated with water of either 1,2 or 3 osmotic Pressure.
