Abstract Guar plant ( Cyamopsis tetragonoloba, Taub.) which known as cluster bean is belonging to Family Legmninosae. It is a swnmer annual herb adapted well to arid and semi- arid climatic zones. It is also known as saline and drought resistant plant. At the present time guar is considered as one of the most important sources of mucilage, which makes special type of gum, used in industry and pharmaceutical preparations. The present study was carried out during two successive seasons, 1992 and 1993. Such investigation included two separate field experiments. The fIrst was concerned with the effect of three different nitrogen fertilization sources, (urea, 46 % N, atmnonium nitrate 33.5 % N, and aIllillonium sulphate 20.5 % N) at 25,50 or 100 kg N/ feddat1 of each fertilizer on vegetative growth, yield at1d yield components, chemical constituents and guaran content of guar plants. While, second experiment was concerned with the influence of three plant growth regulators, ( GA3 at 12.5,25 or 50 ppm; CCC at 250, 500 or 1000 ppm at1d coinnarin at 2.5, 5 or 10 ppm ) on the satne mentioned aspects of guar plants. The most important results obtained in the present study for each one of the two experiments could be summarized in the following paragraphs. |
