Abstract Physico-mechanical properties of acrylic resins and their low thermal conductivity are still a cause for concern in order to overcome high incipence of material ftacture, lack of dimensional stability and improper patient satisfaction. So, in this study we tried to introduce thermally conducting AL203 fillers in form of powder with two volume percentages 10% and 15%, after its treatment with coupling agent as reinforcing material to heat-cured acrylic resin in order to overcome the previously mentioned drawbacks and evaluating the cYtological effect of the prepared composite on the mucosa of the oral cavity. The denture base materials evaluated in this study were divided into three groups:Group (A): Unmodified heat-curing Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) acrylic resin denture base (control group).Group (B): Heat-curing PMMA Acrylic resin denture base reinforced with Ah03 ceramic Powder after its treatment with a silane coupling agent to achieve 10% by volume. Group (C): Heat-curing PMMA Acrylic resin denture base reinforced with Ah03 ceramic Powder after its treatment with a silane coupling agent to achieve 15% by volume. |
