Abstract
SLE is a systemic chronic illness of unknown cause. It is characterized by
the presence of multiple autoantibodies that participate in
immunologically mediated tissue injury.Tinnitus &hearing loss both
reversible &irreversible in SLE patients may also be precipitated by the
drugs used in management of the disease among these drugs are antimalarial
drugs (Seligmann et al., 1996).
Hearing loss was significantly related to the disease activity and severity,
and seizures.
