Abstract The present study included the analysis of 146 patients with histologically proven endometrial cancer seen at the Radiation Oncology Unit of Alexandria University Hospitals between 1974 through 1984. . The files of these patients have been reviewed .to demonstrate the clinicopathological features of the disease. The work-up of the patients included thorough history taking complete clinical examination X-ray chest, IVP, lymphography and cystoscopy in all cases. Skeletal survey, barium contrast studies of the colon, ultrasonography, CT scan and isotopic scan whenever indicated. Clinical assessment of the stage of the disease was performed according to the UICC International Classification System. Histopathological classification was done according to the WHO classification system. In the present series, the highest relative frequency was in the sixth decade of life, 8O% of cases were meno-* pausals, 98% of cases were married, 73% parpus women and 50% were obese. Stages I and II disease consisted 66% of the cases while stage III and stage IV accounted for 34%. The commonest histological type was adenocarcinoma (74.6%) followed by sa> ~oma (18%). |
