Abstract
An investigation was carried out to evaluate the
wettability of four different compositions of silver
brazing alloys on four types of steel as base metals,
and to study the flux characteristics.
A modified wetting index, which is a function of
contact angle and braze contact area. was determined
for each brazing filler metal base metal combination at
each brazing temperature.
The nature and extent of interaction between the
brazing filler metals and the base metals were analyzed
by optical metallogrphy.
