Abstract
In the present work, a computer software package, GSS, is developed for
repetitive items estimation with emphasis to build, operate, and transfer
(BOT) projects. Estimation formulas after the Egyptian code and British
Standards CESMM3 are implemented in programmable spreadsheets for
infrastructure projects including sewerage networks subject to various
conditions, the program serves in planning, preliminary design, tendering,
financing and budgeting phases as well as for as-built quantity surveying
and interim payments possibility of output inclusion in value engineering
studies, bill of quantities (BOQs), running invoices, and progress reports
accompanied with illustrative sketches is available with highest simplicity
and accuracy as well. This in tum provides a rational and reliable
extendable format suitable for the employer, investor, and contractor with
time saving proportional with the project size along with elimination of
cumulative calculation errors
