Abstract The disordes of the pelvic floor form an anatomically clustered but widely disparate set of function problems of uncertain or complex origins, some acquired and some post-traumatic (related to birth trauma or previous anorectal surgery). The aim of this work is to determine the unoward effects of vaginal delivery on pelvic floor and canal musculature and whether episiotomy has any protective role in this respect or not. |
