Abstract
Aim of the work
The aim of this work is to study:
*The haemoglobin oxygen dissociation curve, and the factors that alter it , during massive blood transfusion.•
*The efficacy of pre-operative oral iron in reducing red cell transfusion requirement during major orthopedic surgery.
*The ability of critically ill patients to increase their haemoglobin concentration in response to erythropoietin
therapy.
