Abstract The present study was performed to detect the effect of Novocaine Corbasil 4% and Carbocaine HCL 2% with epinephrine on the blood sugar level in diabetic patients and nondiabetics (as a controlled group). The tudy was performed on a hunderd patients,sixty of them were diabetics (forty three females and seventeen males) while forty were non diabetics (thirty females and ten males). The diabetics were divided into two groups each composed of thirty patients who were given Novocaine Corbasil 4% as local anesthetic drug, while the other thirty diabetics were given Carbocaine HCL 2% with epinephrine 1 : 200,000. The controls were also divided into two equal groups (twenty each) one of them was given Novocaine Carbasil 4% while the other group was given Carbocaine IICL 2% with epinephrine. The age of all patients ranged from thirty to sixty years. Juvenile diabetics or diabetics with renal, nervous or cardiac complications were excluded from this study.
