Abstract

Sixteen growing buffalo calves of 43 kg weight in governmental station (Mahllet Moussa) and similar Sixteen calves in native station (Rewina) Kafer El-sheikh governorate were used in this study . The main ration of calves in both station contained raw milk, concentrate feed mixture berseem and rice straw. Intake Feed, growth rate and blood parameters were recorded during the experimental period.
The effect of various processing methods of cooking on veterinary drugs residues ( OTC, Genta and Sulpha ) in heart kidney and liver was investigated . Samples of 200 grams were collected randomly from each of heart, liver and kidney. The collected samples were treated by various methods of cooking namely, frying, cooking on boiling water, grilling and by microwave. Residues of veterinary drugs were determined before and after cooking.
Also, toxicological studies were done on albino rats to see the accumulation toxicity of the formentioned veterinary drugs. The presented data reflected that veterinary drugs were higher in heart than kidney or liver on both M .Mousa or Rewina station experimental groups before cooking. After cooking they differ depending on the type of treatment. Microweave treatment was the best method for destroying veterinary drugs on calves. Measure of OTC residues in raw meat tissue before consumption should be take into consideration as well as the dietary intake dose .
