Abstract
The alveolar process is a special type of bone. Its main funciton is to support the roots of natural teeth. After tooth loss, a gradual reduction begins in this bone and continues for at least during the first two years. It sometimes continues till death.
This disease is a chronic ailment that reflects the general condition of the subject such as health, diseases, sex and senecense.
