Abstract

This thesis investigates the Grid security as a hot topic. One of the key questions that usually arises when considering a grid environment is security. from Grid security issues, this thesis is focused on the management issues. Trust and monitoring managements are covered in this thesis. Trust management is collecting, codifying, analyzing, and evaluating evidence relating to competence, honesty, security, or dependability with the purpose of making assessments and decisions regarding trust relationships. This thesis addresses the trust management embedded with resource management system. The proposed trust model works in a dynamic environment; changing trust value for every user. The new thing in the proposed trust model is how to compute the trust depend on the experience. After making the trustee of the Grid system, the monitoring management should be developed to get better performance. The proposed grid monitoring system consists of producers, registry, consumers, and failover registry. The goals of this system are to provide a way for consumers to obtain information about Grid resources as quickly as possible, and to recover any faults in the system. The performance of proposed grid monitoring system is evaluated by measuring overhead, response time, and utilization.
