Abstract

This study is concerned with synthesis and characterization of Schiff Base derived from 2-aminobezothiazole and salicylaldehyde, and its complexes with Ru(II) and Fe(III). In addition, Z.album and Z.aegyptium plant extracts as corrosion inhibitors for N80 carbon steel in 1M HCl aqueous acid solution. A literature survey on corrosion inhibition of N80 carbon steel in presence of naturally occurring plant extract in aqueous solutions and on the chemistry of Schiff-base and its complexes as corrosion inhibitors. was reported. The chemical composition of the investigated material, preparation of the used solutions, the instruments, the procedures used for the corrosion measurements (electrochemical techniques). The extraction of Z.album and Z.aegyptium plant extracts was discussed as well as the synthesis of Schiff base (H2abtsal) and its complexes with Fe (III) and Ru (II) complexes was reported. The tools of Schiff-base and its complexes by variety of physical and chemical measurements were reported.
