Abstract Chemical and Electrochemical methods have been used to study the inhibition of corrosion of C-steel in 1 M HCl solutions by using some plants extracts and two acides. The results showed that the order of the percentage inhibition efficiency of plant extract is as follows: Tobacco > Anise for acids Melonic acid > Gibberellic acid. The results of polarization showed that, these compounds act as mixed type inhibitors, but the anode is more polarized when an external current was applied. The effect of temperature on the corrosion rate of C-steel was studied in order to obtain the thermodynamic parameters of corrosion process. The adsorption of plants extracts and two acides on the C-steel surface in 1 M HCl solutions follows Langmuir adsorption isotherm. Inhibition efficiency of all plants extracts and two acides are increased significantly with increasing concentration. |
