Abstract

Introduction:-
Endometrial hyperplasia (EH) is the most common invaive malignancy of the female genital tract it is an abnormal irregular growth of the endometrium. It is a risk factor for the development of endometrial cancer.the present work aim to study the evaluate of GSTp1 gene polymorphism as the risk factor in endometrial hyperplasia and correlate by gene polymorphism in healthy control .the study also extended to evaluate the correlation between oxidative stress as level of malondialdhyde (MDA) and antioxidant enzymes such as superoxide dismutase (SOD) enzyme, catalase (CAT) enzyme and glutathione-S-transferase (GST) in endometrial hyperplasia disease.Methods:-
This study was carried out on Endometrial hyperplasia patients (n= 85) women with age of range from 43-53 years and control samples (n= 76) with the same age range from 43-53 years, This work has been done in Laboratories of Genetics Unit of Children Hospital, Mansoura University, Egypt. Results:significant increase in activity of malondialdhyde (MDA) while there was significant decrease in activity of glutathione-s-transfrerase (GST) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) in contrast there was significant elevation in catalase (CAT) activity .In genetic polymorphism study show that was variation in GSTP1 genotype frequencies from patient and control samples, frequency of Ile/Val heterozygotes more increased in patient than control while Ile/Ile frequency was less appear in patient in comparison with control subjects, and there was the unexpected low frequency of Val/Val genotype in both the controls and endometrial hyperplasia patients but most appearing in endometrial hyperplasia patients. Conclusion : Assayed the level of oxidative stress and the activity of antioxidant have important role in diagnosis of disease and develop treatment plan.
