Abstract

Four metallic rectangular arch wires were tested in this study: SS, TMA, NiTi, CuNiTi. One hundred and sixty samples (10 mm in length) from the working electrode were tested by Potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, (eighty for each method, five for each immersion media). For surface roughness and hardnessof arch wires, one hundred specimens were tested. Twenty five samples for each wire (10 mm in length) were prepared and divided randomly in to five equal groups. Four groups were immersed in the previously mentioned fluids for 30 days before testing, and one group was tested in the as received condition.
