Abstract

1. Introduction: - Many serious diseases are associated with discharging of untreated wastewater into aquatic environments. This problem is propagating worldwide and specifically in developing countries mainly due to inadequate wastewater management. About eighty million people were exposed to cholera in Africa and about sixteen million cases of typhoid infections were also recorded. Tigris River is the main source of water in Wassit in addition to Al-Garraf River that branching from Tigris at Al-Kut city. The Tigris River runs from the north to south and a number of dams were built on it to control the flow of water and irrigation of agriculture lands in the governorate. 2:- Research scope: - The use of data and techniques of remote sensing and geographic information systems and of images for Satellite Quick bird high resolution 10Cm and 50Cm for the year 2004 and 2014 to monitor pollutants in the river and to study the spatial distribution of these pollutants in the sewage system and the production of maps of spatial pollutants as well as evaluating the performance hydraulic to the sewage network in one of the neighborhoods in the city of Kut in Wassit province in Iraq. 3:- Research objective: - The objectives of this work was to evaluate wastewater received at the pumping stations in Al-Kut city based on the analysis of some pollutants. This is in addition to studying the spatial distribution of these pollutants in the drainage network and evaluate the results and analysis hydraulic compared with velocities and slopes allowed. 4:- Steps Study :- Access to remote sensing data and of images for Satellite from Quick bird high resolution 10Cm and 50Cm for the year 2004 and 2014 and the analysis of data to persistent using (ArcGIS desktop ver. 10.2) as well as the sewage system fee based on the same images and program the GIS and evaluated wastewater network using SWMM program that works flexibly with the GIS and comparison Results with global standards for hydraulic and environmental analysis as well as the best site proposal to set up a sewage treatment plant certified by the production of special analyzes mentioned mapping criteria. 5:- Summary of Study:- Technology of Remote Sensing and geographic information systems provide tools can be less expensive and more accurate and effective to detect the spatial distribution of these pollutants study in the sewerage network and the production of maps of spatial pollutant concentrations (PH, BOD, COD, TSS, TDS, PO4, SO4, NO2, NO3, CL, EC), as well as in the evaluation and analysis and design of drainage systems using assistant programs working with Alajafraver information systems such as SWMM environment Agency EPANET protection program.
