Abstract

Choosing a database is a great investment because it is expensively challenging to substitute it with other database when an application or software has been built on inappropriate database. As it is known, NoSQL databases are comparatively new concept and although there are numerous options, small number of these databases will stand test of time. from our point of views, this study must be embraced by developers to avoid the potential problems while choosing database that is not appropriate for their objectives. On the other hand, this dissertation confirmed unambiguously the potential of using MCDM to solve many real world problems such as evaluating NoSQL databases. Multi criteria Decision Making (MCDM) included set of methods for handling the evaluation problems and choosing the best alternative among the others, in addition to ranking the criteria and alternatives according to the priority. The study depended on fuzzy LinPreRa for ensuring the consistency, avoiding the misleading solutions and overcoming the obstacles in other methods. This study introduced four categories of NoSQL databases to be evaluated according to the performance. In addition to developers, this study is for technology decision makers that face the daunting processes to select certain domain from rapid growth sectors of data management technologies. Our suggestion is applying fuzzy LinPreRa on the problems which faces the firms in project management or information technology. The proposed algorithm in this study is able to be applied on different areas including business management and human resources for ranking the priorities and making the decisions about the real world problems. In this study, fuzzy LinPreRa have used fuzzy numbers as input values in the whole decision matrices. Using different defuzzification methods instead of the arithmetic mean (average) will present results with more consistent and the more confident. On the other hand, This study provided the evaluation of NoSQL databases according to the performance regardless of the other worthwhile quality attributes such as scalability, availability and so on. Combination of two or more of these quality attributes to be evaluated is applicable in the future works.Couple group Decision Making lead to additional improvement in the evaluation and more trust in the results. Fuzzy LinPreRa mostly can be applied on hierarchal structure problems for efficient decision making.
