Abstract

VANET Networks is considered as a special type of MANET. MANET has a lot of routing protocols but it is difficult to apply it in VANET as it has special characteristics such as rapidly changing topology. VANET has three type of wireless connection which is Vehicle–to-vehicle, vehicle–to-infrastructure and infrastructure-to-infrastructure. VANET has a lot of applications which used to increase the safety on the roads like Collision Avoidance, Cooperative Driving, and Traffic optimization and the other category is User Based Application which Provide the user infotainment like Internet Connectivity and etc. Our proposed routing protocol is divided into two phases zone discovery phase and route discovery and maintenance phase. Zone discovery phase divided the network into zones and discover all nodes inside the zone and its location by sending zone discovery Message to all nodes inside the zone. After that apply fuzzy rules to estimate Route priority for all Routes and store them in master node routing board. master node now will have all routes to all nodes with priorities for each one. The second phase applied when a node in need to send to another one, it will firstly search in master node routing board for a route to the destination. If routes available it will check the priority to select the most suitable one. If there is no route available the master node will invoke the please find a route algorithm to find a route in the routing boards of its neighboring zones. The list of available routes is available to be used in the case of link breakage and the bases to be available on time it is needed.
