Abstract

Objectives : The present work was aimed to : Effect of host plant on aphid populations and their predators. Effect of aphid population density on the activity of the coccinellid predators, in different leguminous plants. The role of semiochemicals on tri-trophic interaction between host plant, aphids and ladybeeties. Methods &Results : This study was carried out at Experimental Farm of the faculty Agricultural, Mansoura University during two years (2012, 2013) for cowpea and white bean and three years (2012,2013,2014)for broad bean to estimate tri-trophic between host plants, Aphids and coccinellid predators .and some laboratory experiments were carried out. Conclusion: The host plant had an effective role on aphid populations and their predators. The ladybird beetles exhibited different searching rate nad matual interference, depending on aphid and host plant species. Emission of auditory stimuli from the host plant play an infochemical role for the aphidophagous lady beetles, in the first steps of prey searching.
