Abstract

One of the funniest things that man is doing is driving a vehicle. It is a hobby for some people, and a tool to get many needs for others. In the same time, it is a dangerous tool that can lead to the death if it’s used in wrong way. When people drive carelessly, it can cause lots of accidents and sleep during driving is the most important cause of these accidents. Therefore, this thesis introduces a proposed system consists of two stages : the first phase is the use of face recognition techniques and the Android system to secure the car from theft. The user’s image is captured by his or her smartphone and compared to a set of images stored in the phone’s memory. If the face is recognized, the phone will connect to the card via Bluetooth connected to the car to unlock the lock and turn the engine on to the owner of the car but if the face is not recognized, the alarm system will be activated. The second stage is to save the driver’s life using eye tracking techniques to monitor the driver’s eye using the smartphone. The phone will take pictures of the driver’s eye and repeat this process every six seconds with a note if there is a sleepiness during driving or not. In this step eye tracking techniques are fed through, the Matlab program, and the Android system in software design. In the event of drowsiness, the proposed system gives a response to activate the alarm system and stop the car gradually, by telephone and then activate the Bluetooth and communicate with the Arduino and the motor servo to control the brake system and warning.
