Abstract

A pot experiment was conducted out door at the Experimental Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, Mansoura University during the summer seasons of 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 to evaluate the positive interaction effects among different types of organic fertilization forms (compost, FYM, and biochar) and levels (5 and 10 ton fed-1) alongside with bio fertilizer applications (Microbien, phosphorien, effective microorganisms (EM) and poultry manure extract ) on quantitative and qualitative yield characteristics of cucumber (Cucumis sativus) grown under an organic farming conditions .Split split plots design used with 3 replicates for each treatment. The experiment included 30 treatments: 3 treatments of organic farming fertilization compost , FYM and biochar ), two treatments of the rate from organic (5 and 10 ton fed-1 as sub plot) and 5 five treatments of bio fertilizers (control, microbien + phosphorien , microbien phosphosien+ EM , EM and poultry manure extract). It can be observed that compost fertilizer treatment caused a progressively. Increase in average fruit weight (g), fruit length (cm), No. of fruits pot-1 and total yield g pot-1 over than FYM during both seasons of experiment. It can be clear that the level of 10 ton fed-1 significantly produced the highest mean values of all parameters i.e. average fruit weight, fruit length, No. of fruits and total yield , respectively during the two growing seasons. It can be clear seen that all previously mentioned parameters are significantly increased under the combined bio fertilizer treatment) EM +M + ph) and the differences among its are high significant as compared with other treatments in both seasons. The highest averages of fruit weight (g), fruit length (cm), No. of fruits pot-1 and total yield pot-1 in first season and second seasons. The optimum treatment that produced the highest values of all yield components during the two successive seasons is the combined treatment of applying bio fertilizers EM +M + ph with 10 ton fed-1 from compost organic fertilizer. The organic fertilizer compost has the highest mean values of N, P and K content (%) and its uptakes in fruits and shoots in the two seasons, respectively. In return, the highest mean values of nitrogen content (%) in roots in both seasons respectively, are achieved under the organic treatment of biochar. The highest mean values of N, P and K and its uptakes in fruits and shoots, respectively in first and second seasons, are associated with the organic fertilizer level 10 ton fed-1. Meanwhile, the highest mean values of nitrogen content in roots are produced at the level of 5 ton fed-1, in the successive seasons, respectively. The highest values of N, P and K and its uptakes in fruits and shoots in the first and second seasons, respectively, are resulted from bio fertilizers treatment EM+M+ph. Furthermore, the highest mean values of N, P and K content and its uptakes of roots are achieved in the control treatment. The optimum treatment that produced the highest values of N, P and K content and its uptakes in fruits and shoots is the combined treatment of bio fertilizers EM+M+ph and 10 ton fed-1 from compost. Meanwhile, the highest values of N, P and K content and its uptakes in roots are obtained from the control treatment of bio fertilizers with applying 5 ton fed-1 from biochar. The compost organic fertilizer type has produced the maximum mean values of TSS and protein in both seasons. Meanwhile, the biochar treatment has the highest mean values of NO3-N in both seasons, respectively. The organic fertilizer level of 10 ton fed-1 results in increasing TSS and protein in both seasons, respectively. On other hand, the organic fertilizer level of 5 ton fed-1 has the highest mean values of NO3-N in first and second seasons, respectively. It could be concluded that the use of 10 ton fed-1 compost fertilizer with applying microbien + phosphorien + EM could enhance significantly the dry yield , Fruit yield , nutrient contents , nutrient up take and quality of cucumber plant under an organic farming system.
