Abstract

In Egypt ,many farmers have adopted large quantities of P -fertilization in planting their crops ,especially faba bean plant .Although surveying literature indicated that P-application at high rates induce imbalance between macro and micro nutrient. The present work was designed to investigate the effect of high doses of phosphorus fertilizer in the presence or absence of Zn foliar application or inoculation on growth parameters and nutrient content at flowering and harvest stages, the work was also extended to find out the effect of P-fertilization and the foliar application of Zn and inoculation on yield and yield component. A pot experiment was carried out at the green house of Soils Dept. Faculty of Agriculture, Mansoura University, and Field experiment was conducted in a private farm, Borg Elnor at Aga District, Dakahlia Governorate., during the winter season of 2014/2015 to study the effect of the interaction between phosphorus, zinc applications and Rhizobium bio fertilizer on faba bean (Vicia faba L.) Sakha1 variety under alluvial clay soil conditions. The used soil in the first experiment is same the used soil in the second experiment. The combined effects of phosphorus, zinc elements and Rhizobium bio fertilizer on growth and yield of faba bean plants were investigated by combining four phosphorus rates (0, 13.08, 26.16 and 39.42 Kg P Fed-1) and two spraying rate of zinc (0 and 100 ppm Zn). Also, each treatment was studied twice; once in the presence of strains inoculants at the rate of 400 g/ fed and the other without inoculation .The used experimental design was split-split plot design. Also, the treatments were (4 “phosphorus rates” ×2 “zinc rates” × 2 “bio fertilizer”) done in 3 replicates. The results could be summarized as follows: The increase of phosphatic fertilization level (without inoculation and Zn addition ) significantly increased the growth parameters such as plant height , number of leaves , shoots fresh and dry weight of faba bean compared to the control treatment. The application of 39.34 kg P fed-1 produced higher growth parameters then 26.16 kg P fed-1 and finally 13.08 kg P fed-1 زThe inoculation of faba bean seeds by Rhizobium led to significantly increase in all studied growth parameters compared to untreated plants under P-fertilization only or P-fertilization +Zn addition . The inoculation of faba bean seeds by Rhizobia under different levels of P-fertilization with Zn application led to significantly increase in all studied growth parameters compared to without Zn addition. The application of 26.16 kg P fed-1 (P3) with the application of Zn under inoculation or without inoculation produced higher plant height , number of leaves, shoots fresh and dry weight than that obtained for the control treatment. Moreover, increasing P-fertilization level to 39.34 kg P fed-1 with Zn addition, under inoculation or without inoculation ,resulted in significant decrease in all growth parameters than the levels of 26.16 kg P fed-1 . The differences between the treatment of 26.16 and 13.08 kg P fed-1 reach the level of significance for all studied growth parameters. The increase of phosphatic fertilization level (without inoculation and Zn addition ) significantly increased the faba bean yields and its components compared to the control treatment except the straw yield where the increase of phosphatic fertilization level significantly decreased the straw yield . For protein of grain ,seed index and seed yield ,the application of 39.34 kg P fed-1 produced higher values then 26.16 kg P fed-1 and finally 13.08 kg P fed-1 .For straw yield ,the higher value is at 0.00 kg P fed-1 treatment . The inoculation of faba bean seeds by Rhizobium led to significantly increase in faba bean yields and its components compared to untreated plants under P-fertilization only or P-fertilization +Zn addition . The inoculation of faba bean seeds by Rhizobia under different levels of P-fertilization with Zn application led to significantly increase in faba bean yields and its components compared to without Zn addition except straw yield where the value of straw yield with Zn addition is lower than without Zn addition .
