Abstract

Faba bean is one of the most important crop in Egypt important to control root rot diseases. Root rots disease cause great annual losses and sometimes complete crop failure.
The risk of root rots disease can be minimized by using fungicides, but the fungicides have harmful effect on human healthy. Therefore, the present study aimed to replace the undesirable and unsafe chemical control by another safe, effective, economic and natural for faba bean root rots disease control. Bio control agents (Essential oils, Tricoderma spp ,Rhizobium bacteria, Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi)were suggested here to overcome this problem. Soil was inculated with Rhizoctonia solani before adding Faba bean seed. Then seed immersing in essential oil ( Nigella sativa, Syzygium aromaticum , Allium sativum , and cuminium cyminum)and mixture of essential oil and fungicides vitavax-200 by (1:1) ,(2:1) , (3:1) and Tricoderma spp. It was observed that Allium sativum is effective against Rhizoctonia solani. And in mixture experiment essential oil mixed with vitavax-200 by (2:1) give good results in laboratory and in green house Application of Trichoderma spp as abiocontrol agent was carried out using different Trichoderma spp. T.harzianum was the most effective. The results of the study showed that AM fungi play an important role in the reduction of root rots disease Rhizobium bacteria play an important role in inhibition the growth of Rhizoctonia solani responsible for root rots of faba bean.
