Abstract
The thesis represents the evaluation of the water resources in Matruh area to utilize the water resources in the best possible applications. The work included application of remote sensing data and geographic information systems in studying the terrain and the topography in the area of study. Moreover, the present work included a field trip to visit the area of study to collect water samples from the groundwater aquifers in Matruh, in addition to measuring the depth to water in the different wells, the electrical conductivity, the pH, and the water temperature. In addition, chemical analyses were made to for the water samples representing the groundwater and cisterns, along with bacteriological analyses. Morphometric analyses were made to evaluate the flood hazard of the drainage basins in the area of study.
