Abstract

The experiment was carried out at the Experimental Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, Mansoura University, Dakhlia Government, Egypt during the 2016 season to study improving some physical and chemical properties of sandy soil by using some organic and inorganic amendments under saline conditions The coriander plant was planted in pots (35 cm x 40 cm) and filled with sandy soil at rate of 20 kg/ pot. Aim of the work : The objective of this study is to reclaim sandy soil and overcome its most important problems by adding organic and inorganic soil amendments under irrigation with salinity water. The main objective is achieved through the following sub-objectives: 1-Study the effect of biochar in the reclamation of sandy soils and plant resistance to salinity. 2-Study the effect of organic manure (chicken manure) in the reclamation of sandy soils and plant resistance to salinity. 3-Study the effect of Bentonite addition on the reclamation of sandy soils and plant resistance to salinity. 4-effect of spraying on Nano-selenium molecules on the properties of coriander and its resistance to salinity. -Effect of sprinkling with micronutrient mixture on coriander plant and its tolerance to salinity. Conclusion: It can be concluded that organic amendments (chicken manure and biochar), inorganic amendments (Bentonite, spraying Nano-selenium particles and spraying a mix of micronutrients) and the interaction between them under salinity conditions, improve the chemical and physical properties of sandy soil and chemical and growth traits of coriander plant irrigated with saline water (diluted seawater, 10%) in sandy soil. The best values for most of these studied traits of sandy soil or coriander plants were obtained from the addition of chicken manure with Bentonite addition, chicken manure with spraying a mix of micronutrients, chicken manure with spraying Nano-selenium particles respectively and then add biochar with spraying a mix of micronutrients, biochar with spraying Nano-selenium particles respectively.
