Abstract

An accurate estimation of the best method to mitigate the switching overvoltages magnitude, using active or/and reactive power compensation under the microgrid two operational conditions is an important issue to study. As a switching overvoltages mitigation method, the adding SVC to SC has priority over the any of the investigated mitigation methods that is used in the study. This study represented in details the PV generation system model in ATPDraw. In order to evaluate the practical use of the proposed PV system model for transient studies. The proposed PV system model shows stability and ability to withstand the switching overvoltages at the switching operations.
