Abstract

This thesis aims to preparation of TiO2 and SnO2/TiO2 with different amount of SnO2 using sol-gel method and PTA/SnO2-TiO2 catalysts using wet impregnation method with different loading amount of phosphotungstic acid. The 25%SnO2/TiO2 and 25% PTA/Sn-TiO2 samples were calcined at 400, 500, 600 and 700oC to study effect calcination temperature on the chemical and physical properties of catalysts. The catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and FTIR spectra. The surface acidity was measured with nonaqueous titration of n-butyl amine in acetonitrile and pyridine adsorption. The catalytic activity was tested by: 1- Synthesis of 14-phenyl-14H-dibenzo [a,j ] xanthene and 7-hydroxy-4-methyl coumarin.2- Photocatalytic degradation of MB and RhB dyes.3- Adsorption of MB and AG dyes.4- Biological activity The reusability of the catalysts shows that the catalysts can be used several times without significant loss in activity.
