Abstract Ultra-Reliable Communication (URC) is one of the promising features in 5G to provide anytime and anywhere services to the end users especially, in the critical applications such as Mobile Health Care, remote monitoring, diagnosis and treatments. The work objective focuses on studying the availability in the space domain for regular, irregular, and hybrid cell construction schemes. Hence, performance metrics like cell availability, average cell availability and system availability are considered. The hybrid construction will be proposed in this work as the more realistic one. The simulation results showed that the hybrid model provided better system performance than that of regular and irregular construction schemes. The most obvious limitation that faces the URC is the interference which is severe at the cell edges. Hence, the use of the Interference Management (IM) techniques such as Fractional Frequency Reuse (FFR) and Soft Frequency Reuse (SFR) are important to overcome the interference and make good use of URC. The results showed that; FFR1 is better than FFR3 for the regular, irregular and hybrid schemes. |
