Abstract This thesis works toward the synthesis of an eco-friendly strontium (II)-MOF and structural characterization, adsorption and catalytic activity analysis of Sr-MOF, PMA-Sr-MOF and PWA-Sr-MOF. 1. Preparation of Sr-MOF, PMA-Sr-MOF and PWA-Sr-MOF Sr-MOF was prepared under mild hydrothermal synthesis from a homogenous solution of strontium nitrate, orthophosphoric acid, oxalic acid, urea and water with molar ratios of (0.94:5.6:1:3:100), respectively. Sr-MOF was modified by impregnating suitable weights of phosphomolybdic and phosphotungestic acids. 2. Structural characterization of Sr-MOF, PMA-Sr-MOF and PWA-Sr-MOF Structural characterization of the samples has been done by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), thermal analysis, TEM, XPS and EDS techniques. 3. Applications of Sr-MOF, PMA-Sr-MOF and PWA-Sr-MOF We followed two chemical catalytic reactions: synthesis of 7-hydroxy-4-methylcoumarin and 14- phenyl -14H-dibenzo [a,j] xanthene compounds. Adsorption studies were followed with 0.05g for Sr-MOF, PMA-Sr-MOF and PWA-Sr-MOF samples in 50 mL of cationic dyes; rhodamine B and crystal violet (CV) dyes with initial concentration 100 mg/L were shaked for 2 hrs. |
