Abstract

In this work, the structural properties and optical properties of thin films of an organic material called boron subphthalocyanine chloride BsubPc-Cl, were prepared and the thin films were prepared using the usual thermal fumigation in a vacuum atmosphere, then the thin films BsubPc-Cl were heated at temperatures 398 k and 498 k for 30 minutes. The thermal stability of BsubPc-Cl has been confirmed over a wide range of temperatures (20 - 320 ° C) using a differential scanning rate (DSC). The results of DSC act as good instructor for choosing the suitable annealing temperatures to induce the structural properties of BsubPc-Cl films.Infrared technology FTIR and XRD as well as AFM atomic force microscope were used to study the structural properties of thin films made of BsubPc-Cl, and FTIR results showed that the compound has thermal stability and its composition has not changed after the evaporation process. The aim of this thesis is to clarify the structural and optical properties of thin films of BsubPc-Cl for use in making electronic devices. The thesis is organized in four chapters as follows: In chapter 1, It presents a brief summary of organic semiconductors and their applications in practical life, then deals with the explanation of organic semiconductors of type phthalocyanine, its properties and its difference from the rest of the other organic materials. In chapter 2, It deals with an explanation of organic semiconductor materials, the types of electron transport within a material, the properties of thin films, and equations for calculating structure and linear and nonlinear optical properties of thin films. In chapter 3, The Experimental details of preparing thin films are formed from the material used and the devices used in thermal, structural and optical measurements. In chapter 4, This chapter contains the most important results from this study and discusses recommendations for some types of future practical applications of this article.
